What is the EXERT Study?

The 3D Lab is interested in the relationship between video gaming and cognition (e.g., reasoning and problem-solving skills.
If you agree to participate, you and your child will be asked to come to the 3D Lab (Fordham University) to fill out a survey on your child's physical and mental health as well as background characteristics. Then, your child will complete several games that measure how their brain works and play a video game.

During the video game, your child could be asked to do a variety of things from using a controller to duck around obstacles and complete a task to learning a complex series of movements (e.g., jumping, kicking squatting).

After completing the video game, your child will take a short survey about their experiences during the game and re-do the cognitive games.

We will also ask your child to give us two saliva samples to measure salivary hormones.
